SSX Gets Big Air Once More

The SSX series is not known for keeping it real. In fact, it does the exact opposite. EA’s high-flying snowboarding series is set to make its triumphant return in 2012.

Grinding on helicopters, jumping to incredible heights, spinning like a top, all parts of SSX’s MO.

We can only hope Run DMC’s “Tricky” is still on the game’s soundtrack. Worst-case scenario, custom soundtracks. Either ways, it’s TRICKY TRICKY TRICKY!

Limited Edition Kinect Star Wars Xbox 360 is the business

Okay, I may not be that excited about the Kinect: Star Wars game. Yet, the XBOX 360 that comes in the limited edition, is tickling my fancy something fierce. Blue and Chrome that adorns the Xbox 360, is reminiscent of our favorite little droid. While the golden controller that accompanies it, has little wires at the bottom of it that are very similar to C-3PO himself.

Even the Kinect itself has received a milky white upgrade. Now if I didn’t already own an Xbox 360, this would be an instant purchase for me. Since it comes with a 320gb Hard Drive as well. Purchasers will even receive exclusive downloadable content, which I’m thinking is just Avatar items. For the full scoop, take a gander at all of the pictures below.

Polish site leaks details of a $200 SWTOR Collector’s Edition

I’m a big time fan of Star Wars: The Old Republic, I actually think it will be huge when it releases. However, I don’t know how willing I am to spend $200 on any CE. For $200 I think this box  should have sex with me after I pull out all of the items. I’m pretty sure that it is just a placeholder price tag though.

Here is a listing of what is included!

  • A pretty neat statute of Darth Malgus
  • A game case covered in metal
  • The Journal of Master Gnost-Dural annotated by Satele Shan
  • Old Republic Galaxy Map
  • Custom Security Authentication Key
  • Exclusive Music of Star Wars: The Old Republic

There are also seven digital items for in-game use:

  • A flare gun: Which shoots flares into the air. (Uh…)
  • A training Droid: Hovers at your side for Combat Assistance
  • Holodancer Projector: Exactly what it sounds like.
  • HoloCam: Take in-game camera shots of your adventures. (Screenshots can already be taken… right?)
  • STAP: A sleek and unique in-game vehicle. (Hopefully, it is more of a full vehicle then the ones they’ve shown off.)
  • Exclusive Mouse Droid: Spun-ky Droid to join in your adventures. (Another pet?)
  • Exclusive Collector’s Edition Store: Unique in-game vendor with a dynamic assortment of items. (Uh… so buy the big edition to pay more money for stuff? Makes sense.)

Here is what Robin looks like in Batman: Arkham City

He’s not your typical Robin, and reminds us all of Chris O’Donnel in Batman Forever. Not the lovable little mop head we’ve come to expect from the comic books. Luckily though, the little scamp comes with some exclusive surprises. He will be usable in all of the challenge maps, as well as two additional packs included in the DLC.

Black Mask’s Hideout and Freight Train Escape come packaged with the Boy Wonder. Along with his own slew of special movies and unique gadgets to play with. He also gets a change of clothes in the “Red Robin” costume. Here is a direct quote from the advertisement from Best Buy.

While supplies last, pre-order the game for an exclusive downloadable Robin character. Robin is a fully playable character in the new and improved challenge mode in Batman: Arkham City. The Tim Drake Robin pack is available exclusively to fans who pre-order the game from Best Buy on Xbox 360, PC and PS3. Robin comes complete with his own unique gadgets and special moves, and will be playable in all challenge maps in the game, as well as two additional challenge maps that are included with the pack: Black Mask Hideout and Freight Train Escape. The pack will also contain a bonus Red Robin character skin

The Riddler is actually a villain in Arkham City and Catwoman screens

The Riddler is actually going to do more than lead you to collectibles this time. In an interview with Marketing Game Designer, Dax Ginn. IGN got the skinny of the Riddler’s fleshed out role in Arkham City. He’ll still be leading you around by the nose for collectibles, but at the end of the day… Batman can haul off and kick his face in.

This seems like something that the player will be able to do at the end of the game. Mr. Ginn, also speaks a bit about Catwoman’s percentage in the game. She doesn’t necessarily steal the scene, and is considered more of a break from the righteous, Batman. She’ll only be playable for about 10% of the actual game, so Batman still remains the focus.

Check out all the footage of Catwoman after the jump.

Our Johnson gets to play with us in Shadows of the Damned

Your partner/weapon Johnson does a lot of talking in, Shadows of the Damned. A lot of lewd and outrageous talking, but at least he comes in handy. He’s a flaming skull attached to a stick, and his heart is visible just underneath where his throat would be. He can also turn into a pretty cool motorcycle, and apparently he likes blowjobs and anal sex… go figure.

Call of Duty: Elite reveals free and paid subscriptions and a trailer with MW3 at the end

Call of Duty: Elite allows for some extravagant stat tracking and incentives. The elite system will work for both Call of Duty: Black Ops and the upcoming Modern Warfare 3. Elite will not lock people out of Multiplayer for not spending the extra coin. Instead, the subscription will automatically include new DLC and map packs without having to make a separate purchase. While free users will still be able to purchase map packs separately, and still be able to use a wide range of other features.

Most of that information hasn’t been completely fleshed out yet. What is on the menu is what one would call an extreme stat-tracking database. Elite hopes to capture even the most miniscule stat, and have at the ready for players. New features like an experience calculator so that you’ll know how many matches, and points are necessary for the next level.

There will also be a way for players to enter into various competitions with each other. How many times can you throw a knife in someones crotch, or some other gruesome example I won’t write. There will also be video tutorials on how to use weapons, full scale maps, and tips on how to properly use killstreaks. There seems to be a lot that will please both the casual and hardcore.

One of the big focuses to obtaining a premium account will be who you play with. They want to make sure that those who are paying cash, don’t end up playing with team killers, racists, and loners. They know that these people want an experience that goes with paying top dollar. It’ll be interesting to see how this plans out in the long run, but for the serious Call of Duty players… this could be a dream come true.

Barry Burton shoots his way into Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D

We all know Barry Burton from his appearance in the very first Resident Evil. He probably had the worst line in the entire game, with him calling Jill the “Master of Unlocking” and all. Mr. Burton leaves his horrible voice acting at home, and brings his trusty Magnum instead. It’s good to see one of the older characters return, even if he’s not supposed to be alive.

The assortment of screenshots are down below, take a good look after the jump.

Resident Evil: Mercenaries goes viral, and some screens of Rebecca Chambers!

A new video from the Capcom camp, shows off a viral video of a newscast gone horribly wrong. There isn’t much game play in there, but there are some gruesome deaths and random zombie sightings. Oh… and an extremely large axe comes down on someones head. So… if you’re even a little squeamish. I would suggest not even looking at the video at all.

We also get some new screen caps of Rebecca Chambers… and she’s looking like a zombie. I don’t know why her skin looks like it does compared to her body, but let’s hope they get that fixed by the time the game releases. Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D releases on June 28th for the Nintendo 3DS.
