Redbox is known for the small box outside of grocery stores and the like. Where you can slide some money in and get a good video rental. In a recent press release, the company has decided to rent PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii for $2 a pop. They will start distributing the video games on June 17th, 2011. The company issued a quote regarding the upgrade to the service.

Redbox will increase consumers’ access to video game rentals by leveraging our incredible technology and business model to keep rental prices low for consumers,” said Mitch Lowe, president, redbox. “With more than 21,000 redbox locations slated to feature video game rentals alongside movies this June, redbox will be the one-stop shop for entertainment.

Should be interesting to have another place to get games from.


New Marvel MMO will be Free 2 Play

Marvel announced today that Michael Bendis would be penning the story for the MMO. Things will revolve around the mythology of the Marvel Universe, allowing players to step into the shoes of their favorite characters. If the concept holds true, Marvel Universe will be the first MMO to allow players to officially be key comic characters.

Very little information was released on the game, but Marvel decided to leak a bit on the MMO via twitter.

L.A. Noire Integrates Social Club Features

Rockstar has let some information loose on some of the features for the Social Club. The bonuses for joining the social club are extra stat tracking features like checklists, and friend comparisons. Players will receive an exclusive “Chicago Lightning Suit” that allows Cole Phelps to have better accuracy with the BAR.

A new feature named “Ask the community” will allow users to check percentages based on other players choices. It’s an interesting addition, and will give some insight on how other people play the game.
