Call of Duty: Elite allows for some extravagant stat tracking and incentives. The elite system will work for both Call of Duty: Black Ops and the upcoming Modern Warfare 3. Elite will not lock people out of Multiplayer for not spending the extra coin. Instead, the subscription will automatically include new DLC and map packs without having to make a separate purchase. While free users will still be able to purchase map packs separately, and still be able to use a wide range of other features.

Most of that information hasn’t been completely fleshed out yet. What is on the menu is what one would call an extreme stat-tracking database. Elite hopes to capture even the most miniscule stat, and have at the ready for players. New features like an experience calculator so that you’ll know how many matches, and points are necessary for the next level.

There will also be a way for players to enter into various competitions with each other. How many times can you throw a knife in someones crotch, or some other gruesome example I won’t write. There will also be video tutorials on how to use weapons, full scale maps, and tips on how to properly use killstreaks. There seems to be a lot that will please both the casual and hardcore.

One of the big focuses to obtaining a premium account will be who you play with. They want to make sure that those who are paying cash, don’t end up playing with team killers, racists, and loners. They know that these people want an experience that goes with paying top dollar. It’ll be interesting to see how this plans out in the long run, but for the serious Call of Duty players… this could be a dream come true.
