We’re always saying “They don’t make them like this anymore” in regards to great things we loved as youngsters. Torment: Tides of Numenera is one of those games that people are talking about.
It brings back that traditional RPG goodness and makes it less about combat and more about the story and the world building. You better be prepared for a wall of text and lots of descriptions for each of the areas and characters.
It’s not going to be for action junkies but it’s a great title for people open to interesting stories. There aren’t many combat points in the game but that’s kind of the joy of the game. It successfully ignores the needs to turn each combat into an absolute every five steps.
