A brand new game based on the Golden Axe series, simply called “Golden Axe Myth” has been released to the public. Recently a remake of Streets of Rage was taken down due to Sega protecting their licenses. So it’s a bold move to openly release a title under the banner of a Sega game. The game was created with the Open BOR 2D engine, and features four playable characters.

It really has the Golden Axe flavor added in with some pretty gruesome kills. Each character has their own devastating magical ability, which can turn the entire screen into a gore festival. It’s a pretty impressive game and matches the throwback feel of the old Golden Axe titles. Even down to the scurrying gnomes carrying bags of goodies on their backs. Don’t take my word for it though, head on down to Golden Axe Myth and grab it yourself.

Players who are having difficulty solving a case will be allowed to skip through them. During a Q&A at the Tribeca Film Festival, Rockstar’s Art Director Rob Nelson, spoke of a popup that will appear if players fail constantly. This will allow players who just want to see the story to progress through the game, while many hardcore gamers will continue struggling onward.

Since L.A. Noire is less focused on running around shooting up the city, and more on solving police work through investigation. It makes the game more accessible for those that want a story, but don’t want to be bogged down by elements they aren’t interested in.

The adventure game from Telltale that was supposed to be released this month, is being pushed back into the Fall. Originally, the PC version would have been the first of the bunch. However, due to this new delay… the game will release simultaneously across each system. CEO Dan Conners released a statement regarding the delay:

The game’s mechanics and storytelling have come together in such a way that we see great potential, so much so that we feel we can push these elements to the next level if we spend some extra time working on them. It is because of this that we are delaying Jurassic Park: The Game on PC to ensure PC players get the best possible gaming experience.

Players who have pre-ordered the game for this month, will be issued a complete refund for the discrepancy. That and they are giving those early purchasers a choice a free game. Now that’s what I call customer service!
