The announcement took everyone by surprise, a Nintendo system would be the first to outclass Sony and Microsoft. While being completely backwards compatible with the Wii itself, and finally breaking into the high definition age. Now it’s confirmed that the console will actually be showcased and playable at E3 this year. It is reported to have a touchscreen display, dual-analog sticks, and the ability to stream directly from the console.

Update: A mock-up of the controller has recently surfaced, as well as some sleek screens of what could be the console. Now this controller looks entirely to be a work of art for the system.
This could easily be a concept version for us to get a visual of what they have in mind. It shows off most of what has been reported from various sites. We will have to wait until E3 to see if it’s true, or if Nintendo releases any early news regarding it. For now it looks like a safe bet that this system could be the merging of tablet and console gaming. Nintendo has confirmed that the system will release sometime in 2012.
